Lesley was a keen and dedicated Security Officer who appreciated the student population and was always on hand to assist and advise with their problems. Her calming, friendly presence resolved many difficult situations.
Lesley joined the University of Bristol Security Services team in 2007 after a period working in the private security sector. As a Door Supervisor at the Thekla Nightclub, she was greatly respected for her knowledge and hard work, and her ability to communicate with staff and customers was legendary.
Lesley quickly adapted to university life and was swiftly appointed as the Unite the Union workplace representative. Her energy and drive, combined with excellent knowledge of her role, soon made her a much-respected person both within her own department and in the wider university community, where she received many requests for advice and assistance.
In June of this year Lesley completed a sky dive in memory of a former colleague from Security Services, Paul Sicolo and for the great work of the Devon Air Ambulance raising the grand sum of £1064.79 in the process.
Lesley was planning to leave the city of Bristol and move to the country to begin a new phase of her life with her partner Keith. Lesley was a wonderful lady, blessed with a keen sense of humour, she had unlimited compassion for everyone she met in life.
Lesley is survived by her daughter Lois who she loved deeply and was rightly proud of.
