It’s part of 2020VISION, an ambitious multi-media project that focuses on bringing the beauty and fragility of Britain’s natural environment to a wider audience, underlining the importance of conservation for both wildlife and people.

Bertie’s focus for 2020VISION is urban wildlife. He will be talking about his experiences of tracking down foxes and peregrine falcons in the concrete jungles of Bristol and London.  

Chosen as one of 2020VISION’s Young Champions, Bertie is part of a 20 month project which allows the young people to work alongside professional photographers.  This is an amazing opportunity to learn from them as well as spreading 2020VISION’s message.

Bertie, a final year Zoology student, said: “This event is one not to be missed as there’s not just one world-leading wildlife photographer speaking, there’s three. The team will be talking about good news conservation stories and doing so with amusing anecdotes and incredible pictures.”

The show will include talks from three of Britain’s most eminent wildlife photographers who will be joined by Bertie.

Pete Cairns, co-founder of 2020VISION, is a Senior Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers. He is known for his large scale photography projects and will be hosting the Bristol event.

Andy Rouse has won nine BBC Wildlife Photographer of the year awards and currently holds the Cherry Kearton Award for contribution to the world of wildlife photography.

Joining them will be Dr Alex Mustard, one of the world’s leading underwater photographers who will be talking about his work exploring the unseen richness of the seas surrounding Britain, including 12m sharks and playful seals.

The event is open to all. 2020 Vision will take place at St George’s Bristol on Monday 24 March at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10/£8 or £4 for students.
