The Communication Systems and Networks (CSN) Group in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering recently co-hosted a round-table event organised by the US instrumentation company National Instruments (NI)

The Radio Frequency (RF) and Communications Round-Table brought together some 20 leading European researchers and educators working on research in signal processing and microwave and communications system design. The CSN group is known for its world-leading research in wireless communication systems, such as WiFi and 3G/4G cellular, and as such was well placed to co-host discussions concerning the future of the sector. This group is a key contributor to the Doctoral Training Centre in Communications, which is training the next of generations of leaders and innovators in high-performance communications.

NI showcased its graphical system design, which can accelerate research, provide a faster transition from research to commercialisation, and attract more young people to the electrical engineering profession.
