Diplomatic Service chief to speak to students and staff

Simon Fraser, Head of Her Majesty’s Diplomatic Service, is visiting the University this Friday (7 December) to speak to students and staff about British foreign policy.

Simon Fraser, Head of Her Majesty’s Diplomatic Service, is visiting the University this Friday (7 December) to speak to students and staff and to take part in a Q&A session hosted by Professor Timothy Edmunds, Director of the Global Insecurities Centre in the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies.

Mr Fraser is the senior foreign policy adviser to the Foreign Secretary, and is responsible for the management of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London and its Embassies and High Commissions around the world. He will discuss Britain's foreign policy, its role in the world, the challenges to come and the strategies for success in a time of rapid change.

The talk, which takes place at 5pm in the Tyndall Lecture Theatre in the School of Physics, will be introduced by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eric Thomas. All University staff and students are welcome; no booking required.
