Probing the ethics of Holocaust culture

Dr Tim Cole's interdisciplinary collaborative work on Holocaust Geographies has been chosen as one of a handful of recent representations of the Holocaust to be analyzed at a workshop at UCLA this weekend (21-23 April).

Dr Cole is a member of a cluster of contemporary European historians in the Department of Historical Studies at the University of Bristol, and a leading member of the international Holocaust Geographies research group.

Along with Anne Knowles, Associate Professor of Geography at Middlebury College, Vermont, Dr Cole will respond to a critical paper analysing the team's published and forthcoming work Geographies of the Holocaust (Indiana University Press, 2013 forthcoming).

The UCLA workshop - 'History Unlimited: Probing the Ethics of Holocaust Culture' - is envisioned as a sequel to the groundbreaking volume Probing the Limits of Representation (Harvard University Press 1992) and celebrates the work of Professor Saul Friedländer, one of the world’s foremost historians in the field of Holocaust Studies.
