Recreation of a Victorian drawing room - the Careers Office winning entry

Recreation of a Victorian drawing room - the Careers Office winning entry

2 December 2011

Support services teams on the second floor of Senate House have been competing for the best-decorated office in the run-up to Christmas, and raising money for the NSPCC in the process.

The Graduation Office, Widening Participation and Undergraduate Recruitment Office, Careers, Admissions, Examinations Office, and the Centre for Public and Ceremonial Events all took part in the annual tradition of decorating their workplaces, this year around the theme of the Victorian Christmas.

Dominic Freda, Faculty Manager in the Social Sciences and Law Faculty Office, judged the entries and declared the Careers Office’s Victorian drawing room the winner. Sources confirm that no fudge or mulled wine changed hands before the final verdict was delivered.

Colleagues across the University are invited to view for themselves the plum puddings, copper kettles, clove-stuffed oranges and holly-festooned fireplaces. Donation boxes are located on the Exams Office reception counter and in Careers. Please give generously.
