Cían Hughes presented his work on ‘Digital image stabilization in the treatment of oscillopsia’ at the International Society for Otologic Surgery and Science in Athens, for which he won the Politzer Prize for Translational Research (Clinical Prize).

Jonathan Davies submitted an essay to the national society for Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery (ENT UK) Undergraduate Essay 2011 Competition, and was awarded first prize. His essay was entitled ‘Discuss the Importance of Plasticity in the Auditory Pathway’. Jonathan will receive his certificate and prize at a ceremony at the Royal Society of Medicine in February 2012.

Srikant Ganesh and Emily Hotton presented ‘An audit of the use and added value of PET-CT in MDT decision-making in oesophago-gastric cancer’ at the Severn Deanery’s Audit and Research meeting, and won the first prize, sharing it jointly with a postgraduate surgical trainee.
