The acclaimed Brodowski Quartet will begin a three-year residency at the University’s Department of Music this autumn.

Generously funded by The Carr-Gregory Trust, the residency sees the Quartet performing three lunchtime concerts per year, together with an extensive programme of workshops and masterclasses for students.

Head of Subject, Professor John Pickard, said: 'We are absolutely thrilled to be able to have this ongoing relationship with the Brodowskis, who have already performed here on a number of occasions with great success. Students, staff and the general public will all benefit from the presence of these wonderful artists. We are extremely grateful to The Carr-Gregory Trust for making the residency possible.'

The first concert in this residency will be given at 1.15pm on Wednesday 19 October at the Victoria Rooms, as part of Inside Arts, the University's first Festival of the Arts and Humanities. The concert will be followed at 2.30pm by a composition masterclass in which Professor Pickard will discuss his Quartet no 3 with the help of the Quartet.
