Dr Matt Watson and colleagues in the School of Earth Sciences featured in an episode of BBC Radio 4's The Tribes of Science about volcanologists.

The series, presented by Peter Curran, studies groups of scientists - from astronomers to zoologists - in an attempt to shed light on their unique cultures.  In this episode, Curran puts a tribe of volcanologists under his anthropological lens, seeking the common traits and culture of this adventurous clan of geologists.
