Dr Fuchsbauer is a member of the department’s Cryptography Group, which conducts research into the underlying hard problems on which cryptography is based and the hardware and software needed to implement secure systems. He obtained his winning thesis on ‘Automorphic Signatures and Applications’ while he was at the École Normale Supérieure Paris, an elite graduate school for advanced undergraduate and graduate studies, and a prestigious French research centre.

The award was established by ERCIM’s working group on Security and Trust Management and aims to increase the visibility of the young researchers inside the ERCIM scientific community as well as in the larger European one.

Dr Fuchsbauer collected his prize and presented his work at the 7th International Workshop on Security and Trust Management in Copenhagen in June.
