History of Art student, Francois Vandame, is the curator of an exhibition of new works by the Bristol-based urban art collective, the Def Bombin Kru (DBK), hosted at the Bristol Gallery from Saturday 5 March.

'Moving Walls, Changing Seasons' will run from 5-12 March in benefit of The Prince’s Trust. The exhibition will feature a set of four Chinese screens representing the four seasons, which will be submitted to the 2011 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition following their exhibition in Bristol. The screens will be constructed of British made hardware and locally grown sequoia wood from Bendry Brothers, the oldest family-run lumber mill in Bristol.

Other works on display will include drawings, studies and sketches, and a selection of recent paintings, including the diptych, The War of Art, which was the first graffiti-style painting to be submitted to the Royal Academy, and which was shortlisted for exhibition in 2008.

A small selection of works will be for sale, with a portion of any sales made being donated to The Prince’s Trust, which actively supports underpriviledged youth in the Bristol. Speaking of the exhibition, Sarah Hertzog, Head of Commercial at The Prince’s Trust in the South West, said: ‘The Prince’s Trust is proud to support this exhibition. Our work with disadvantaged young people has never been more relevant, with youth unemployment in the region at a 12-year high. We’re delighted that the proceeds from the opening night’s raffle will go towards helping these young people.’

The Bristol Gallery, Millennium Promenade, Bristol BS1 5TY is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm. Entry to the exhibition is free.
