UWE awards honorary degree to Professor Eric Thomas

The University of the West of England has awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Science to Professor Eric Thomas, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bristol.

The University of the West of England (UWE) has awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Science to Professor Eric Thomas, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bristol. The degree was awarded in recognition of his considerable leadership in higher education, and more specifically his role in leading Science City Bristol and in developing sustainable partnerships between the University of Bristol and UWE.

The honorary degree was conferred at the awards ceremony of the School of Health and Social Care on Friday 12 November at Bristol Cathedral.

Professor Thomas said: ‘I am very pleased to have received this honour. We are fortunate in Bristol to have two high-quality and complementary universities – and a city that is such a powerhouse of science and innovation.’
