British Science Festival student bursary scheme

9 April 2009

The British Science Association is offering bursaries that will enable universities to sponsor students to attend the British Science Festival in September.

The British Science Festival (formerly the BA Festival of Science) provides an opportunity for students to broaden their horizons, meet leading scientists and speakers and engage in debate and discussion about the impact of science in society.

This year’s Festival will be hosted by the University of Surrey in Guildford, from 5-10 September with events taking place across Surrey. The Festival will be joining in the national celebrations of Darwin200 marking 200 years since the birth of Charles Darwin. All of the events featured are tailored to non-specialists, as are the debates, exhibitions and social events. For more information about the Festival, please visit the Festival website.

Universities have the opportunity to sponsor students to attend at the reduced cost of £330. This includes Festival registration, accommodation and food for the week.

For further details about the bursary package, please contact the supporter development team, tel 0870 241 0664 or email supporters@britishscienceassociation.org.

The British Science Association is a charity that works with members, supporters and partners towards a shared vision of a society in which people are able to access science, engage with it and feel a sense of ownership about its direction.
