Members of the public are being invited to comment on revised proposals for new research and teaching accommodation for the University of Bristol’s departments of Biological Sciences and Mathematics. The proposed development is to be built on part of the old Children’s Hospital site on the corner of St Michael’s Hill and Tyndall Avenue.

The development will create over £80 million of first-class education and research facilities. It will also improve the public realm and include a new public route to Royal Fort from St Michael’s Hill. 

Late last year, the University and its project team presented early proposals for the development and invited feedback from the local community and other interested organisations. Since then, the team has made significant changes in response to public feedback and in the light of ongoing discussions with Bristol City Council officers.

The project team aims to share the revised proposals with the local community before finalising the scheme and submitting a planning application later this year. A public exhibition will be on display from 12 noon to 5.30 pm on 16 April and from 8.30am to 5.30pm on weekdays between 17 and 30 April at Senate House in Tyndall Avenue.

There will also be an opportunity to meet some of the people behind the proposals between 5pm and 7pm at Senate House on Thursday 17 April and Thursday 24 April. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to discuss any queries they have and talk face-to-face with representatives from the University and the project team.
