Professor Judy Harris of the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology was an invited plenary speaker, describing the integration of human patient simulators with traditional physiology teaching. In the final plenary session, Emily Rigby (a fifth-year medical student, and chair of the British Medical Association’s Medical Students Committee 2006/07) gave a very lively presentation on students’ contribution to medical education, together with two medical students from Germany and the Netherlands.
Other papers on medical education were presented by Teaching Fellow Stephen Greenwood, and by Dr Clive Roberts and Professor David Mumford of the Centre for Medical Education. Teaching Associate Tricia Thorpe and Amy Crees, a fifth-year medical student, presented posters.
