Bristol University is awarding honorary degrees to Dame Jane Roberts and Dr Stephen Cretney at today’s degree ceremonies in the Wills Memorial Building [Thursday 19 July].

Bristol University is awarding honorary degrees to Dame Jane Roberts and Dr Stephen Cretney at today’s degree ceremonies in the Wills Memorial Building [Thursday 19 July].

Dame Jane Roberts, psychiatrist, Bristol graduate and former leader of Camden Council, will be honoured with the degree of Doctor of Laws at the 11.15 am ceremony.

The degree is in recognition of her success in local government and as a child and adolescent psychiatrist.

Dr Stephen Cretney, academic lawyer and solicitor and former Bristol professor and dean, will be honoured with the degree of Doctor of Laws at the 2.30 pm ceremony.

The degree is in recognition of his distinguished career as an academic lawyer and his outstanding service to the University.
