Gordon Pavey

Gordon Pavey, Honorary Special Lecturer in Education at the Graduate School of Education, died after a short illness on 8 June.

He was appointed to the post by Professor Eric Hoyle in 1988, and taught on the PGCE religious education programme.

Before coming to the University, he was Head of Theology at St Martin’s College, Lancaster, Redland College, Bristol and St Matthias, Bristol. While at the University he was appointed Canon at Clifton Cathedral. He was much respected and liked by generations of students, former students, teachers and colleagues. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
