HEFCE Clinical Senior Lectureships to Bristol medical staff

The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) has made Clinical Senior Lectureship Awards to three candidates nominated by the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.

The recipients are:

Dr Patrick Horner - Genitourinary Medicine (in partnership with UBHT)
Mr Gavin Murphy - Cardiothoracic Surgery (in partnership with UBHT)
Mr Ashley Blom - Orthopaedics (in partnership with North Bristol Trust)

These are among 38 new HEFCE Clinical Senior Lectureships at 12 UK universities as part of a national scheme to support senior clinical academics in their career development. The awards will allow the clinicians to dedicate at least 50% of their time to academic activities. The reminder of their time will be in clinical practice in the partnership NHS Trust.
