Len Miles

25 May 2007

Len Miles, Senior Porter at Canynge Hall, has died after a short illness.

Everyone who knew Len or worked with him was unanimous in their opinion: a thoroughly nice chap, forever positive and always helpful.

Len was interviewed for a cleaning job in Site Services ten years ago, after he left Ashton Containers. His personality and character immediately shone through, and he was quickly snapped up for the job. Just under two years later, Len had taken up a portering position, and it was there that he found his niche.

Two years ago Len was promoted to senior porter and Site Services never looked back.

Len was based at Canynge Hall and was very much part of the Social Medicine family. He had a very positive character and was always keen to help everyone out; in fact, he hated saying no to anyone.

Len was a keen skittles player and an accomplished organist who was very fond of music. His passing has left a huge hole that will be very hard to fill as he was much liked and respected. It was a shock to everyone when six weeks before he died Len received bad news regarding his health and was told shortly afterwards that nothing could be done. Our condolences go his wife Sue and his two children, Christopher and Nicola. He will be sadly missed by all.
