The Department of Drama: Film Theatre and Television is celebrating its successful bid for an Arts and Humanities Research Council Fellowship (AHRC) in the Creative and Performing Arts.

In October 2007, the video artist Terry Flaxton will take up a three-year post as Creative Fellow, working on a project entitled ‘High-definition imaging: an investigation into the actual, the virtual and the hyper real’.

His work will focus mainly on high-definition video used in installation contexts. Jonathan Dovey, a reader in the Department of Drama, said: ‘Terry is an inspiring and very experienced screen media creative whom I feel certain will be able to offer the department, school and faculty new directions in contemporary art practice.’
