Career development for female academics

11 April 2007

Places are still available on a career development workshop for the advancement of women in science, engineering and technology on Friday 20 April.

The workshop, which is open to contract research staff, female lecturers, senior lecturers and readers from the Faculties of Science, Engineering, and Medical and Veterinary Sciences, will take place from 10 am to 12 pm in the Cabot Room at the Hawthorns on Woodland Road. It will explore issues around career development and promotion and address the factors that may help, hinder or prevent female academics from developing their careers.

Professor Vala Ragnarsdottir, who holds a chair in Environmental Sustainability in the Department of Earth Sciences, will lead the event, supported by Professor Paula Booth of the Department of Biochemistry and Professor Diana Worrall of the Department of Physics.
