Professor Varinder Aggarwal of the School of Chemistry has been awarded the inaugural Alexander Todd-Hans Kreb Lectureship. This lectureship is a joint award of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (German Chemical Society) and marks the level of Professor Aggarwal’s leadership in organic chemistry within his generation.

The Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (GDCh) is the largest chemical society in continental Europe with members from academe, industry and other areas. It supports chemistry in teaching, research and application and promotes the understanding of chemistry in the public.

Professor Aggarwal will present the first Alexander Todd-Hans Kreb lecture at the CDCh Chemistry Forum in Ulm in September 2007.
