The second issue of Subtext, the new University magazine about people at Bristol, their work and their lives, is published today.

The second issue of Subtext, the new University magazine about people at Bristol, their work and their lives, is published today.

Subtext, as the name implies, tries to get beneath the surface of life at the University. The magazine brings a creative approach, quality writing and high production values to bear on stories about Bristol academics, support staff and students: tales of adversity, challenges, triumphs, and even a bit of adventure.

Issue 2 - among other journeys - goes to Cuba with a pair of Engineering students, delves into the wonderland of chemistry with two Bristol professors, and introduces a web trainer whose second career as a musician and producer has brought him plaudits from Iggy Pop and Japanese pop hipster Cornelius.

Subtext is distributed to University staff with their payslips, and is also available online in PDF format. For extra copies, please email news-team@bristol.ac.uk or drop into Senate House.
