Collaboration opportunites at research partnership conference

22 February 2007

A conference on 21 March will bring together businesses and universities from across the South West with the aim of developing collaborative research and development projects.

The conference, run jointly by Great Western Research (GWR) and Knowledge West, will take place on Wednesday 21 March. GWR is a five-year, £14-million project aimed at promoting new relationships between businesses and academic research groups by funding collaborative research projects in the five theme areas of Applied Mathematics, Creative Arts, Materials Science, Psychology and Sustainability.

The event, which is free, will consist of case study presentations outlining the benefits of collaboration; an opportunity to network with other businesses and academics; an opportunity to discuss potential projects that would qualify for GWR funding; and details of how GWR and Knowledge West can help businesses.

The event will take place at the Cabot Auditorium, Hewlett Packard Labs, Building Three, Filton Road, Stoke Gifford, Bristol BS43 8QZ.
