Rabbit lovers are in for a treat on February 24 when Bristol University’s Langford House Small Animal Practice opens its doors to the public to celebrate rabbits of every size and shape.

The event, called ‘Spring hop’, will include a fun rabbit show, a demonstration of different breeds, displays and activities on all aspects of looking after rabbits, videos of common operations, a tour of the new rabbit hospitalisation facilities and fun activities for both children and adults.

Members of the public who can’t attend the event but would like to take part can enter the creative writing and photography competitions. The winners will be announced and prizes awarded on the day.

Both competitions will accept entries on any aspects of rabbits, with a word limit of 1,000 words for the creative writing entries. Entries for all the competitions need to be with the practice by February 19.  To obtain an entry form, contact the practice on tel (01934) 852422.

Dr Alison Blaxter, Hills' Clinician and Director of the Small Animal Practice, in the Division of Companion Animal Studies at Langford, said: “Everyone is welcome and we hope that the event will brighten up one of the months of the year that is traditionally the greyest for us all.”

The free event, organised by the Langford House Small Animal Practice, will take place on Saturday 24 February, Langford House Small Animal Practice, University of Bristol, School of Veterinary Science, Langford, North Somerset, from 2 to 5 pm.
