As part of the Multifaith Chaplaincy team, Ed’s role is to offer pastoral and spiritual support to students and staff across the University, regardless of their religious background, and to provide opportunities to explore issues of faith and spirituality. His role as the Anglican member of the Multifaith team includes strengthening links between the University community and the Anglican churches in Bristol.
The Chaplaincy team is involved in a number of activities this term, including:
- the Student Multifaith Forum, which gathers representatives of the religious societies affiliated to Student Union;
- offering home-made soup lunches (Mondays 12.30-2pm);
- hosting the Fair Trade café (Fridays 12-2pm);
- organizing the Holocaust Memorial Day;
- facilitating the Anne Spencer Memorial Sermon (this year’s speaker is Dr Sheila Cassidy, Tuesday 6 February);
- developing the Chaplaincy as place for reflection and prayer.
Ed will be licensed as Anglican Chaplain by the Bishop of Bristol on Saturday 3 February at St Paul’s Church, Clifton. All are welcome to attend; for more details, please go to the Chaplaincy webpage.
