Professor Catherine Kelly, Head of Law at the The University of Bristol Law School and Professor Melanie Leslie, Dean of Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University, recently met on reciprocal Law School visits in Bristol and New York.
The Law Schools signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), forging a road for new partnerships and opportunities including research collaborations, academic exchanges and student experiences.
Professor Catherine Kelly said:
"We are thrilled to have signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Cardozo School of Law. It was wonderful to meet with Dean Leslie in New York in October and to welcome her to Bristol in November. This partnership promises to drive innovative research and curriculum development, enhancing and diversifying opportunities for our students. Cardozo Law School’s global reputation for academic excellence and its forward-thinking approach to legal education make it an ideal partner. We are excited to collaborate and explore the international prospects this new partnership will unlock for both our academic and student communities."
Dean Melanie Leslie said:
“We are excited about our collaboration with the University of Bristol Law School, which will allow us to broaden students’ perspectives about US and UK legal systems and to enhance their understanding of global legal issues. This partnership will help us prepare students for jobs in complex and diverse environments and expand networking opportunities across borders. It was a great pleasure meeting with Professor Kelly in New York and at the beautiful Wills Memorial campus in Bristol. Her vision for the law school is truly inspiring, and we look forward to working with her and her team.”
The Schools look forward to celebrating their new partnership on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, when Cardozo School of Law will host a keynote talk at our US Alumni Gathering in New York, given by Bristol's Professor Sarah Green: 'The Good, the Bad and the Digital: How to Make Sense of Crypto Assets'. Full event details will follow in the New Year.
