The Human Rights Implementation Centre has published a series of podcasts examining whether and how state authorities implement human rights recommendations and reparations adopted by regional and international treaty bodies.
- Gilbert SebihogoGilbert Sebihogo who is the Executive Director of the Network of African National Human Rights Institutions (NANHRI). Prior to his appointment, he served as a visiting lecturer at the Independent University of Kigali. He has also served as the Prosecutor General before the Court of Appeal of Kigali. Mr. Sebihogo holds a Master’s Degree in Public International Law and International Human Rights Law from the University of Pretoria.
- Felix Agbor NkongoFelix Agbor Nkongo, a Cameroonian human rights lawyer and activist, and a Barrister at Law of the Supreme Court of Cameroon and Nigeria. Felix founded and is now the Executive Director of the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa (CHRDA) and provides pro bono legal services to thousands of victims of human rights abuses.
- Lucy ClaridgeLucy Claridge is the Director of Strategic Litigation at Amnesty International, where she leads Amnesty’s global litigation programme. Prior to this, she was Legal Director at Minority Rights Group International, where her work centred on strategic litigation, advocacy and capacity building to improve access to justice for minority and indigenous communities worldwide.
- Marc LimonMarc Limon is Executive Director of the Universal Rights Group (URG), a think tank focused on international human rights policy, with offices in Geneva, New York, and Bogota.In this podcast Marc talks about the role of national mechanisms for implementation reporting and follow up (NMIRF) in ensuring implementation of human rights recommendations and reparations from UN and regional treaty bodies and courts.
- Gaye SoweGaye Sowe is Executive Director of the Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa (IHRDA), the leading civil society organisation litigating on human rights issues on the continent. In this podcast Mr Sowe talks about the approaches of the IHRDA to implementation of its cases and some of the challenges they have faced. - Lucy AsuagborLucy Asuagbor is a member of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights and a Judge at the Supreme Court of Yaoundé, Cameroon. She has previously served as State Counsel and Vice President and Chief Justice of the Court of Appeal in the South West Region in Buea, Cameroon.
