The Bristol Law Conference is a student-led annual event, open to students, staff and the public as a platform for critical engagement with a topical area of law. The Bristol Law Conference is a student-run event that was established in 2013. Each year, the Conference selects a topic in relation to law and invites a multitude of speakers from a variety of backgrounds to come and speak on the issue. This ranges from academics, experienced lawyers and experts in relevant fields. Examples of past Conference topics have included: “The Age of Terror: A Legal Response”, “Artificial Intelligence versus the Legal Mind”, and “Untangling Britain from Europe: Brexit and the Future of EU Law”. The Bristol Law Conference is delighted to announce our annual Conference on Saturday 19 Feb 2022, held virtually via Zoom.
The theme of the Conference is “Success in a Post-Pandemic Legal Landscape: COVID-19, ESG & Legal Tech”. The Saturday event will start at 11AM, and run until approximately 5PM.
This event will involve talks across three topics, and a Q&A session from leading practitioners from diverse areas, ranging from a legal and policy officer to a public law solicitor and to a member of the Scottish Parliament. The Q&A session will also offer attendees a valuable opportunity to meet and network with Brand Ambassadors from various firms.
An extremely popular annual event, previous years have seen upwards of 300 attendees. The Conference is a must-attend one for anyone considering a career path in Law, be it as a solicitor, barrister, or academic. The speakers and topics are prevalent and relevant to today’s legal landscape, offering attendees a chance to increase their commercial awareness and employability.
This Conference is open to all students regardless of degree course or year of study.
