With the world changing at an ever-faster rate the need for innovation and entrepreneurship has never been more desired. For graduates to thrive in a disrupted world they will need creativity as well as commercial acumen.

The multi-award-winning Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship has launched four new Masters programmes which are now recruiting for postgraduate students to start studying in Autumn 2022.

The new Masters programmes will teach students how to apply their existing undergraduate degree knowledge and professional experiences in real-world business challenges appropriate to both starting and joining innovative organisations.

The Centre now offers five programmes in total:
  • *NEW* The MSc Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship is for students interested in working for large private or public organisations rather than small or start-up companies or charities. Content is geared towards innovating in organisations operating at scale.
  • *NEW* The MA Creative Innovation and Entrepreneurship is for students specifically interested in careers in the creative industries or in building a business around their creative practice. Content is geared towards understanding how creative practice is applied in business contexts.
  • *NEW* The MSc Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship is for students interested in social, civic, and environmental purpose organisations and start-ups. Content is contextualized for mission-driven organisations of all scales.
  • *NEW* The MSc Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship is for students with an existing technology background seeking to develop their user-design and commercial knowledge and practice. We Won’t teach new technical skills, only how to utilize existing knowledge effectively in business.
  • The existing MSc Innovation and Entrepreneurship is for students with a general interest in working in innovation or creating an entrepreneurial start-up. It provides a broad range of knowhow and opportunities to explore and develop a potential career focus or start-up.

Postgraduate Programme Director Dave Jarman explains: “having run our successful taught Masters since 2017 we know we have a really attractive and distinctive postgraduate offering. What we wanted to do next was offer some new specialisms for students with a real focus on creative practice, intrapreneurship, social purpose, and technology innovation. These new programmes take the best of what we do already mixing up the commercial necessities with both creative thinking and human-centered design, and build tailored routes for particular graduate ambitions.”

The five programmes share some common units, so students get to work in exciting interdisciplinary teams, but also allow for students to focus on their chosen contexts, with case studies, live clients, and venture-creation activities that enable them to really immerse themselves in their interests.

Bristol remains the top location in the UK outside of London to start-up, with a thriving tech cluster, burgeoning creative industries hub, and a long history of radical social and engineering innovation and these new programmes both benefit from and contribute to the value of the city as a place to do business.
