Dr Grace Huxford has been awarded a British Academy Small Grant to start work on her new project, ‘Living on a Cold War Frontier: an Oral History of the British Army of the Rhine (1945-1994)’. This project will examine the experiences of men, women and children living on German army bases during the Cold War. Dr Huxford’s research will involve archive research at the National Archives, Imperial War Museum and the Hoover Institute (Stanford), as well as oral history interviews with former service personnel and their families. This pilot project will run from August 2016 until early 2018.
