Postgraduate MSc Modular Dissertation (Two years part-time)
The Dissertation is the final stage in the HPE's master's level programme in Education. It is intended to allow you to conduct a more in-depth study of a particular education issue that you are interested in.
This is an opportunity to study a subject that is relevant to you in some depth. You have a choice between an empirical or library-based dissertation.
The empirical project involves carrying out a piece of original research on a small scale. You will plan a small research study, collect and analyse primary data and present the results in a systematic way. A library-based dissertation is an investigation using secondary data which is already in the public domain. This can involve the re-analysis of an existing data set, a review of the existing research on a particular topic, the study of the development of a specific concept in the literature, or a critical investigation into an area of government policy.
Our supportive environment has helped students produce a varied range of dissertations and the ability to take that work to international conferences and publication.
