Follow our checklist of things to do before your ceremony and on the day itself, to help with your planning

Before the day

Complete the registration form - the deadline for registering for July-August 2024 graduation is 5 pm on Wednesday 15 May 2024.

Read all the July-August 2024 graduation information on the Graduation website, including our terms and conditions.

Name pronunciation - contact graduation-office@bristol.ac.uk with a phonetic version of your name to assist the reader to announce it correctly, if your name is often mispronounced (if not already provided on the registration form).

Contact graduation-office@bristol.ac.uk to discuss any accessibility requirements (if you have not already indicated a requirement on the registration form).

Request a visa support letter, if required to assist you and your guests in travelling to attend your graduation.

Order your gown and hat - The deadline for ordering your gown and hat online is 5 pm on Tuesday 16 July 2024.

Make sure any outstanding tuition fees are paid in full by the deadline of Monday 17 June 2024 - see Eligibility for further details.

Check the timetables for the day to help with your planning. 

Familiarise yourself with what to expect at your ceremony.

Check that you are eligible to graduate - confirmation and guest ticket details will be sent to you around a week before your ceremony if so.

Print out your guest tickets for your guests to show for entry to the Wills Memorial Building on the day - see the Tickets page for details.

On the day

Collect your own graduand ticket from the Richmond Building - see the Tickets page for details.

Collect your gown from the Richmond Building.

Have official photographs taken at the Richmond Building, either before or after your ceremony (optional).

Purchase a graduation film, clip of your conferral or other memorabilia from the stalls at the Richmond Building or online, if you would like a memento of your day - see the Photography, films and other merchandise page for details

Return your gown at the drop-off point at either the Wills Memorial Building or the Richmond Building, by the deadline given in the timetables for the day information.

School celebrations

Some schools may hold their own additional celebrations for their graduating students, which they will invite you to separately.  You should contact your school to find out details of any celebrations events they may be arranging for your graduation day.
 
Vet Science and Vet Nursing students will also attend the RCVS ceremony at Langford - information is sent separately by the school.
 
MBChB students should check with their school for information about their Promise ceremony.
