Seed corn projects
The Jean Golding Institute offers seed corn funding to support and promote activities that will foster interdisciplinary research in the area of data science, based on the principle that a small financial investment will lead onto bigger things.

Bristol Data Week and Bristol Data & AI Showcase
This is an annual event dedicated to exploring and promoting the significance of data in various sectors, including technology, business, research, and society. It typically features a series of workshops, seminars, training, panel discussions, and networking opportunities aimed at bringing together professionals, researchers, policymakers, and enthusiasts interested in data science and the impact in society.

Data competitions
The Jean Golding Institute aims to promote collaborative research and bring cutting-edge practices in data science in order to solve a number of community challenges. The competitions are open to staff and students at the University of Bristol and some are also open to external partners interested in collaborative work.
