Urgent help from University Security

Before you travel, you must download and install the University’s SafeZone travel safety app. Using the app, you can quicly contact University Security if you need urgent help, or let Security Officers know where you are.

Stay in contact

Your academic department

Stay in regular contact with your placement coordinator and your personal tutor while you are abroad.

University email

Check your University of Bristol email account regularly. We will use this email address to contact you. 

You can access your email using MyBristol or Outlook

Changes to your placement 

We understand that changes to your placement can happen while you are abroad. These can include changes to your job role and the duration of your placement. 

If you experience any changes or any problems with your work placement, contact your Year in industry coordinator or Language Director in your academic department as soon as possible. You should also report any changes to Global Opportunities by emailing us at go-abroad@bristol.ac.uk.

Before you return

Check the Global Opportunities Blackboard organisation for information about what you must do at the end of your placement, before you come back. 

Check with your employer abroad, to find out if there is anything you need to do before you finish your placement.
