The CoSEM CDT and the NIA have renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a further 5 years to build on their existing relationship, to host seminars and short courses, visits to both institutions, and to collaborate on research and knowledge sharing.
The MoU is expected to have a wide reaching impact, opening up new research opportunities not only for the existing cohorts of CoSEM CDT students, but also numerous other researchers within the Bristol Composites Institute (BCI) and wider Faculty.
Dr Rainer Groh MRAeS CEng (Senior Lecturer in Digital Engineering of Structures) said:
"BCI and NIA have a longstanding relationship of fruitful collaboration, knowledge exchange and secondments of researchers between the two institutions. It is wonderful that we will be continuing our relationship with NIA and, by extension, also NASA Langley Research Center into the future. This will especially benefit our PhD students and early-career researchers by providing possibilities to take advantage of NIA/NASA's state-of-the-art composites research facilities and the ability to interact with world-leading researchers."
