- Third international workshop on measuring strength 14 October 2021 Professor Michael Wisnom of Bristol Composites Institute, together with Professor Yentl Swolfs from KU Leuven and Professor Federico Paris from the University of Seville, organised a successful online workshop on UD Compression Strength on 5 October.
- Bristol behind world’s massive egocentric dataset 14 October 2021 Professor Dima Damen and her group in computer vision are part of an international consortium of 13 universities in partnership with Facebook AI that has built the world’s most diverse egocentric dataset - officially released 14th October.
- New Hot Robotics facility to further Nuclear Research 5 October 2021 A new University of Bristol facility at Fenswood Farm, part of the National Nuclear User Facility for Hot Robotics (NNUF-HR) officially opens next week. There are 4 partners including Bristol (UK Atomic Energy Authority, National Nuclear Laboratory and The University of Manchester), each offering equipment and test spaces.

- Riccardo Manno from Bristol Composites Institute wins EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account funding 12 August 2021 Riccardo Manno, a final year PhD student from the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Advanced Composites for Innovation and Science (ACCIS CDT), has been awarded a £40,000 Impact Acceleration Account grant from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.

- Dr Bassam Elsaied from Bristol Composites Institute receives EPSRC New Investigator Award 5 August 2021 Dr Bassam Elsaied, Vice Chancellor's Fellow in the University's Department of Aerospace Engineering and a member of the Bristol Composites Institute, has been awarded a £330,000 New Investigator Award from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.

- £2M ERC grant awarded to Professor Fabrizio Scarpa from the Bristol Composites Institute 21 April 2021 A grant of more than two million pounds has been awarded by the European Research Council (ERC) to an international research project, led by the University of Bristol, which will use natural plant fibres, bacteria, enzymes and spider silk to create materials that mimic how the human brain works.
- Successful ACM5 Symposium on Automated Composites Manufacturing 21 April 2021 The Bristol Composites Institute and National Composites Centre (NCC) recently hosted a special programme of on-line keynote presentations and a panel discussion to explore the hot topics in advanced automated composites manufacturing. This was the first time the biennial ACM symposium was held as a virtual event.
