Sir George visit to AerospaceOn 7 June 2013, the Aerospace Engineering Department welcomed the visit of Sir George and Lady White.

Sir George’s great-grandfather founded one of the most important British aviation companies, the Bristol Aeroplane Company back in 1910, one of the forerunners to BAE Systems and Airbus in the UK.

Sir George and Lady White were introduced and spent some time with Professor Jonathan Cooper, who holds the Sir George White Chair of Aerospace Engineering, named after the great ancestor.

The visitors toured the wind tunnel, composite and dynamics experimental facilities. They were also introduced to the Head of Aerospace Department, Professor Ian Bond and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Nishan Canagarajah.
