Waters and Reach Separations Seminar: “SFC and Difficult Separations

25 November 2015, 3.30 PM - 25 November 2015, 5.00 PM

Guy Wilson, Waters and Victoria Coulthard, Reach Separations

Lecture Theatre 3, School of Chemistry, BS8 1TS

Waters and Reach Separations are launching a new Academic Education Series.

Waters is an innovation leader in chromatography and mass spectrometry. Waters is driving innovation in supercritical fluid chromatography, which offers many benefits to chemists wanting to understand their reactions and purify their compounds. Reach Separations is a unique purification service provider, using SFC to help scientist purify both chiral and achiral compounds. Pharmaceutical customers have widely adopted this technology. Together Waters and Reach Separations are committed to supporting academia and ensuring a wider and better understanding of the fundamentals of supercritical fluid chromatography in universities to equip the scientists of tomorrow with the knowledge of analytical tools they will need to succeed.

These seminars are designed to raise awareness of SFC. It will be in two parts, Waters will introduce the fundamentals of SFC and giving a range of examples where this technique can applied to analytical challenges. In the second part Reach Separations will explain how the technique can be used to efficiently purify compounds and show real life examples of the benefit of using SFC.

Academics are faced with many analytical challenges, maybe SFC is the solution you have been waiting for. Come along and find out about the latest separation technology and how it can address a wide range of analytes, particularly those where reverse phase chromatography or GC are not straight forward.
