Object recognition in human vision: Evidence from eye movements and event-related potentials

27 November 2015, 4.00 PM - 27 November 2015, 6.00 PM

Professor Charles Leek, School of Psychology, Bangor University

Seminar Room, Life Sciences Building, Tyndall Avenue

In this talk, Professor Leek will describe some of the work combining psychophysics, eye tracking and event-related potentials (ERPs) to elucidate how the visual system acquires and processes shape information. The work shows that analyses of the spatial distributions of fixations can reveal preferences for the acquisition of specific kinds of surface curvature information during shape perception.
