Enterprise Adventures in East Africa
Bristol alumnus Edward Matos graduated from Engineering Design in 2009, won £10,000 in the New Enterprise Competition with his social enterprise bio-digester technology business Shamba Technologies, and moved to Tanzania in 2010 to make it happen.
Four years later he's briefly back in Bristol and after some interesting highs and lows he's now working on affordable solar-power electricity systems for sub-Saharan Africa.
Find out more about being an entrepreneur in the developing world, trying to run an Envirotech social enterprise, trying to design and mass-manufacture a product, 'frugal engineering', and all the adventures along the way.
The event is being run by Inc. (University of Bristol Enterprise Society) and Basecamp.
