This presentation will discuss the impact of the last fourteen years of research work of the cryptography group in the area of elliptic curves.

Professor Smart will give the story of their many impacts in areas as diverse as banking, mobile phones and email; highlighting impact delivery mechanisms like standards bodies, advice, academic papers and spinouts. The talk will be at a level accessible to all students and staff of the Faculty of Engineering.

Pizza and beer will be available after the talk in the Pugsley Lecture Theatre Foyer, First Floor, Queens Building.
