Bristol Classics Hub Teach Meet: Who is Classics for?

24 May 2022

The next Hub virtual TeachMeet for current and trainee school teachers.

Who is Classics for? Who studies classical subjects and why? The Bristol Classics Hub in collaboration with Widening Participation will host a virtual TeachMeet on 16 June 2022, 16:00-17:30, on the theme of student engagement with Classics. Join us for a frank discussion about who currently studies classics: which year groups and in what contexts? What are the benefits of featuring classics in subjects beyond Latin, Greek, Classical Civilisations, or Ancient History? We invite teachers in schools, colleges and universities, and PGCE students, to share their teaching ideas and practices for widening engagement with Classics.  We will touch on issues such as which aspects of the ancient Mediterranean most appeal to modern students, and how we can ensure inclusivity in our teaching.

Join us for a virtual TeachMeet on Thursday 16 June, 16:00-17:30.
