Dinner plate

As part of a dinner service, this plate has been used by successive wardens of the University of Bristol’s Manor Hall, since the 1940s. It was produced at the Bristol Pottery and features the ‘Bellflower’ design by J. F. Price. This pattern was exhibited at the ‘Britain Can Make It’ exhibition in 1946 and the ‘Festival of Britain’ in 1951. The plate forms part of a complete setting, now held by the University’s Special Collections.
