Jack Burnett

General Profile:

Before the PhD, I taught computer science in various educational settings, from Secondary Schools to HE institutes. User experience and data visualisation were the key areas I lectured in, using knowledge gained through my BSc and MSc, and from the overlap of these two areas, I developed a strong interest in Interactive AI. There are many societal issues that interactive AI may be able to solve, or at least improve, that are yet to be researched and I want to be a part of the teams that help develop these solutions.

The research area I am most interested in is how interactive AI can enhance current educational and mental health provisions, with a focus on the user-facing aspects of these applications; however, I am also interested in researching intelligent social agents and the ethics of interactive AI. Outside of interactive AI, I have a passion for animal welfare and environmental conservation.
