Year 2 Student – 2022 Intake – Cohort 4 My academic background combines a BSc in Financial Mathematics and a MSc in Mathematics for Cybersecurity. I have also worked as a Data Scientist & Python Developer. My passion for Mathematics and problem solving has led me to pursue solutions in detecting abnormal behaviour and yet unknown threats on large networks. My research project is "Dynamic Risk Assessment for Critical Infrastructures under Attack" which aims to address the need for near-real-time risk assessment for safe and continuous operation of critical infrastructures when faced with an ongoing cyber-attack. |

Dynamic Risk Assessment for Critical Infrastructures Industrial Control System play a crucial role in Critical Infrastructures. Most of them are legacy systems combined with modern Internet of Things devices which only broadens their threat landscape. Traditional risk assessment methods fail to capture their dynamic nature and take countermeasure in real time. This project aims to conceptualize an algorithm to inform in near real time Incident Fault Trees used for risk assessments. The end goal is leverage incoming data to spot compromised parts of the network and identify attack paths as well as attackers intentions. Ultimately, the model would be able to isolate compromised parts and take necessary measures to keep the Infrastructure running in a safe even if reduced capacity.
