Improving Resource Use: An Introduction to Economic Approaches to Evaluating Health and Care Interventions course

This introductory course has been developed by the ARC West health economics team and is designed for people working in the health and care system, whether delivering or commissioning services, who are interested in improving the use of available resources and strengthening their knowledge of economic evaluation.   

Course topics will include: 

  • The challenges of resource scarcity 
  • Different types of evaluation design 
  • Understanding health-related quality-of-life outcomes and cost-effectiveness 
  • Broader perspectives on outcomes and economic evaluation 
  • Approaches to help local decision-makers
