Researcher coffee catch-up: Improving shared decision making for surgery

4 June 2024, 5.00 PM - 4 June 2024, 6.00 PM

Christin Hoffmann (University of Bristol)

online

Join People in Health West of England (PHWE) for this coffee catch-up, where you can ask researchers questions, give feedback and engage with research projects happening in your local area.

During the coffee morning, Christin will be talking about the ALPACA study and how her team is working on engaging with under-served communities to develop an intervention to improve shared decision making for surgery.

The overall goal is to make sure everyone who is offered surgery (regardless of their background) is involved in choosing their treatment and feels supported to make a choice that is right for them.

Christin Hoffmann is a researcher at the University of Bristol where she works in the Centre for Surgical Research. Her work mainly focusses on improving the communication between patients and clinicians.
