Abstract: I'll introduce some examples and discussion around how AI can be used in chemical problem solving, through the lens of solving the structure of new molecules discovered in research, to replace slow existing tools (like quantum chemical calculations), replace labour-intensive human steps (like learning to understand images of spectroscopic data) or open completely new avenues to finding answers (massive multi-parameter fitting of complex datasets).
