There is still time - support our new University Library
13 March 2020
There is still time to support the creation of a new University Library, a building that will provide more opportunities for our students and staff to research and learn, welcome the wider community and provide a new home for our world-class Cultural Collections.
It will accommodate learning and research space, with capacity for around 2,000 new study seats, approximately 420,000 books and 70,000 journals and new study spaces. The ground floor, with exhibition galleries, an events space, a programme of activities, new public art and a café, will be fully open to the public and is designed to be accessible to all.
The full planning application has now been submitted, but your continued support however will be vital to ensure the project goes ahead and enables us to create this flagship new space.
You can send in your comments and support the new University Library until Wednesday 18 March 2020.
You can do this in two ways - either via the Bristol City Council online planning portal, which has closed to the general public but will remain open to local residents
OR by emailing the Council directly via:
firstname.lastname@example.org and including the following reference; '20/00433/F | Redevelopment of the site to accommodate a new University of Bristol Library'
